K&K Internal Pickup and Pure Preamp - $300 installed

If you would like your harp to be amplified, I offer installation of a K&K Big Twin transducer pickup at the time of your harp’s construction.  The Big Twin Internal System requires a hole be drilled in the harp's soundbox for installation.  Included with this installation is a K&K Pure Preamp. I do not offer the pickup or preamp for sale separately, however I can install the pickup in an existing harp.

The Pure Preamp is an external preamp with a belt clip, powered by a 9 Volt battery, which K&K states will last about 180 hrs.  It has gain control, as well as bass, midrange, and treble equalization controls (+/-20dB Bass and Midrange, +/-16dB Treble), allowing you to adjust the tonal balance of the harp over its entire range. 

You must supply the required patch cable which connects the Big Twin Pickup to the Pure Preamp, and the cable connecting the preamp to the amplification system. A patch cable with a "L" jack on one end of the patch cable that connects the harp pickup to the preamp will provide a more ergonomic configuration. These patch cables are available in convenient lengths at most music instrument supply stores.

Soft Case - included with purchase.  The carrying and storage cases I use are Lever Harp Cases from Four Seasons Harp Covers.  For a full description of their construction, click on the link here.  The cases come in black, charcoal, navy blue, regal purple, and teal.

Ergonomic Tuning Key - included with purchase - This key was recommended to me by the same harpmaker who has provided so much valuable knowledge.  It's the only tuning key I've used, and I can see no reason to try another.

Alternate Feet - Alternate feet are available, which raise the harp up to four (4) inches (10cm) higher than the standard feet. (see below).  They are available for an extra charge of $100.  I am also currently working on the design for a removeable stand, for those who wish to place the harp higher than standard.  It will be an additional $250 for new harps, and $350 to retrofit to an existing harp. 

Stand for Planxty Susan Double 24 - $300

This stand was created for those who prefer to have the harp sit on a stand which becomes an integral part of the harp while playing, but easily removable for carrying or storing.  Any of the available hardwoods listed on the Woods & Finish page can be used, and the stand is available in height ranges from 7" to 15" (18cm - 45cm).  The stand pictured with the Planxty Susan harp on the Models page has a height of 10" (25cm), and is shown below.  The stand connects to the base of the harp using two brass pins, and two threaded knobs.  The weight of the 10" high mahogany version is 3 lbs (1.4kg).  Weight will vary with height and species of wood used.
